Amanda | Virginia Plantation Maternity Session

Amanda was just stunning during her Virginia Plantation Maternity Session!Lately I have been struggling with what I really love and feel the most joy with shooting. I love weddings and I love my families! Maternity shoots really get me though! When I was pregnant I really did not have a maternity or newborns session, it wasn’t a big “thing”. I wish I could go back and document how beautiful it was being pregnant, maybe I miss those times and that is why these session tug my heart!

I have been photographing her family for a few years now and each time gets better! This is Amanda and Craig’s third little one! She has two precious boys and now they will have three! The boys were so darn sweet this day! They are so proud to become big brothers, they giggled and smiled through the entire session and could not stop touching and kissing Amanda’s belly! We set out to shoot at my favorite spot Appomattox Manor! This location has so many places to shoot and always has beautiful light!

When I contacted Amanda about shooting her maternity photos she was not on board at first. We get to a point where we are tired and not feeling the best during the last trimester. I get it!!! Pregnancy is so beautiful and I think no matter how we feel about ourselves getting big that one day to get dressed up and celebrate this special time in our lives is to good to pass up! I am so glad she decided to say yes! We talked about my vision for her and both of us were on the same page with styling and location! She always has the best style for her and her family, always picking outfits to compliment her family and herself! I wanted to soften up and add a special touch to her outfit, I hit up Erin with Rose Avenue Florals, she made us the perfect floral crown! Erin has an amazing eye for florals!

We walked, talked and laughed  till sunset and it was too perfect! I left this shoot with immense joy and excited to get home and edit her session! The best part of this session…..was posting her sneak peeks! Amanda reached out to let me know she was so happy I convinced her to document this day and that she was in love with her session. This is what makes my job and hard work worth it!  Congrats Amanda and Craig! I can’t wait to see your precious new addition!

I was honored to have Amanda’s Virginia Plantation Maternity Session features over on Southern Motherhood Magazine! Head over to check out the feature!
